I had the pleasure of capturing a truly magnificent Indian wedding a couple weeks ago. The entire event was filled with elegance and charm, and it was a truly unforgettable experience.
From the moment I arrived, I knew this wedding would be something special. The couple had every detail carefully curated to create beautiful events.
On the first day, at the bride’s parent’s home in Mason Ohio, the Haldi ceremony which is a beautiful intimate ceremony where close family and friends apply yellow paste on the bride and groom. Later that evening the Mahndi started which is where the bride gets henna done on her palms, back of her hand and feet. Shivangi’s henna was so beautiful! Something so memorable was the fact that Shivangi’s mom made ALL the decorations for these events that they had on display in their yard and inside their home.
Day two was the Sangeet which involved dancing performances done by the bride and groom, their wedding party, and family members. This was so much fun and they had the perfect backdrop for it at the Oasis Conference Center in Loveland, Ohio.
Day three, the final day of celebrating, included the Baraat, Ceremony and Reception. The Baraat is the Groom’s wedding procession. The Groom is then greeted by the Bride’s family where an exchange is made between families. The Ceremony included so many beautiful parts some of my favorite parts were when Shivangi walked in with a canopy carried above her as she was escorted down the aisle to the mandap. Another favorite part was when they exchanged floral garlands to signify their willingness to accept one another. Lastly, the Seven Steps which is where they take seven steps together each step representing one of the vows of marriage. We ended the day with a beautiful reception that included dancing and toasts from their loved ones.
One of the things that struck me the most was the beauty of this wedding. From the beautiful color palette for each event, to the love the couple has for one another, to the joy these two had celebrating with their friends and family. The entire celebration evoked a sense of tradition and culture.
I pride myself on creating a stress-free environment for my clients, and this wedding was no exception. I worked closely with the couple to ensure that their vision for their big day was reflected in every photograph. By establishing a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, I was able to capture the most genuine and natural expressions from everyone involved.
As a photographer, it is always my goal to create images that truly stand the test of time. I want my clients to look back on their wedding photographs many years from now and still feel the same joy and love that they felt on that special day. Through a combination of classic poses and candid shots, I strive to create a collection of images that will remain timeless and treasured.
Overall, this Indian wedding at the Oasis Conference Center was a true testament to the power of love and the beauty of tradition. It was an honor to be a part of such an elegant celebration. The memories captured will forever remind the couple and their loved ones of the joyous emotions they felt and the timeless beauty of their union.
