First Look vs First Touch: What are they?

You may have heard about a first look versus a first touch on your wedding day but might not be sure what each of them really are. I am here to fill you in on what they are!

A first look is when you and your spouse decide to see each other before the ceremony. This means that your photographer will plan a time in your timeline for this first look. Your spouse will face away from you and you will call out their name to turn around and see you for the first time on your wedding day. This is normally an intimate moment with just you and your spouse (+ photography/videographer).

A first touch is when you and your spouse decide to wait and see each other when you walk down the aisle. Your photographer will plan a time for a first touch where you and your spouse are back to back facing away from each other and you touch hands and get to share a special moment together. This is normally a moment with just you and your spouse (+ photography/videographer).

Now you might be thinking well how do I know which one to do? That is totally up to you and your spouse and what you are wanting for your wedding day! My personal favorite is the first look for so many reasons which I get into in another blog post.

let's document your love story.
