Getting Ready Tips for the Bride | Ohio Photographer

One thing you are going to want to do on your wedding day is get some staged getting ready photos. What I mean by this is, you are going to want photos of you: getting your dress on, putting your earrings in, putting any other jewelry on, putting your shoes on and some portraits.

This is going to take some time so I like to set aside at least 30 minutes for just getting ready photos. The best way to do that is to put it in your timeline. This will allow you to not feel rushed as you’re getting ready and give you time to just take it all in. These photos are super important to help tell the story of your day. These always tend to be some of my brides favorite images from their wedding day.

A good order for these photos is:

  • Getting in your dress (you can have your mom or maid/matron of honor help you with this)
  • Shoes
  • Bracelets (optional)
  • Necklace (can have maid/matron of honor or bridesmaid)
  • Earrings
  • Portraits of just you

These photos are normally taken in your getting ready space so it is important for your bridal party to help keep the room or a space in the room clean for this that way we don’t have to spend time cleaning it up later when we go to do your getting ready photos.

Here are some examples of some of the photos we can get during your getting ready photos:

let's document your love story.
