Something that you might not think to do before your engagement session or wedding day is getting your engagement ring cleaned. You wear your engagement ring around all the time and it does get dirty. I recommend cleaning your ring before your engagement session and your wedding day. This will help it look all sparkly and clean in photos for those close up images that I like to get.

Another option is cleaning it at home. In order to do this you will need a bowl, warm water, dishwashing soap, soft-bristle toothbrush, and a gentle cotton cloth.
Steps for cleaning your ring at home:
- Turn on water and let it warm up to the point where it is almost hot – fill up a bowl with some water
- Add in dishwashing soap to the warm water
- Soak your ring for about 20 minutes
- Gently brush your ring with the toothbrush
- Rinse it under warm running water
- Wipe it with the cloth
- Repeat if needed
